Cookie Policy

1. The Short Version: We Don't Track You

If you have read our Privacy Policy, you already know that Aerogel operates on an absolute zero-data philosophy. Because we do not collect, monitor, or monetize user data, we do not use any tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies on our website or within our software.

You will not find irritating cookie consent banners on our platforms because there is nothing to consent to. We have nothing to track.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device by websites you visit. Traditionally, they are used to remember your login states, track your browsing behavior across multiple websites, or serve you targeted advertisements.

Because Aerogel requires no user accounts and serves no ads, traditional web cookies are entirely unnecessary for our platform.

3. Client-Side Local Storage (How We Save Your Settings)

While we do not use tracking cookies, our web application and software interfaces must remember your basic interface preferences to function smoothly. To accomplish this safely, we use Local Storage.

Local Storage is a secure, client-side technology built into your web browser or operating system. Unlike traditional cookies, data kept in Local Storage is never transmitted to our servers. It lives exclusively on your hard drive.

We may use your device's Local Storage solely for the following technical necessities:

  • UI Preferences: Remembering if you prefer Light Mode or Dark Mode.
  • Configuration States: Saving your local UI layout preferences or workflow setups.
  • API Keys (If Applicable): If you provide third-party API keys (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) to connect your own AI providers, these keys are saved locally on your machine via Local Storage or secure local configuration files. We never transmit these keys to Aerogel servers.

4. Third-Party Analytics and Pixels

We do not embed third-party surveillance scripts. You will not find Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook) Pixels, TikTok tracking codes, or any cross-site trackers injected into the Aerogel environment. Your usage of our application remains entirely invisible to these data brokers.

5. Managing and Deleting Local Data

Because all preference data is stored strictly on your device, you have absolute control over it. You can delete this data at any time:

  • In a Web Browser: You can clear your browser's cache and Local Storage via your browser's privacy settings.
  • In the Desktop Application: You can use the "Reset Configurations" option within the settings menu, or simply uninstall the application, which will purge the local configuration files from your system.

Please note that clearing your Local Storage will result in the loss of your saved UI preferences and you will need to re-enter any API keys you previously supplied.

6. Changes to this Policy

If we ever introduce new features that require a change in how we handle client-side storage, we will update this page. However, our commitment remains firm: we will never introduce tracking cookies, advertising beacons, or background telemetric surveillance into the Aerogel platform.

7. Contact Information

If you have any technical questions about how we handle local configurations or secure client-side storage without utilizing servers, our team is happy to clarify our architecture.
